Case 44: Heating Retrofit Project
Project Objective: Legacy building heating upgrade and retrofitting, replacing old die-cast aluminum radiators with advanced Lianqiang modular underfloor heating.
Building Area: 145m2 Tibetan-style residence.
Climate Conditions: Alpine region with severe winter cold; legacy heating systems suffered from high energy consumption, slow heat-up times, and heavy pollution.
Project Requirements: Eliminate outdated heating methods for clean, smokeless, and fast heat-up performance while incorporating domestic hot water and minimizing damage to existing walls.
Solution & Performance:
Retrofit Details: Removed legacy boilers and replaced them with a Bosch condensing wall-mounted boiler master unit, executing partial underfloor heating renovations while retaining some existing radiators converted to hydronic heating. Optimized exhaust piping layouts with strict flue spacing controls to meet high-altitude installation standards.
Performance & Effects: Post-retrofit operations are smokeless and dust-free with smooth, rapid startup heating. Energy consumption dropped drastically compared to legacy systems, 24-hour continuous hot water is readily available, and interiors remain clean and tidy.
