Case 11: Solar + Air Source Heat Pump Hybrid Project (Liwuhu Railway Public Security Bureau)

Project Objective: Showcase future green energy transition and multi-energy complementary technologies.

Hot Water Demand: 30 Tons daily.

Climate Conditions: Plateau temperate semi-arid climate with abundant sunshine, high annual solar radiation; dry winters with rare precipitation, extreme diurnal temperature variations; strong UV rays and afternoon gales.

Project Requirements: High-volume domestic hot water for an administrative and residential office building.

Solution & Performance:

Core Equipment: Configured with 2 units of Power World 10HP heat pump hot water units + 2,200 pieces of Shengtoke evacuated solar tubes with 44 manifolds (50-port headers) + 1 unit of a 30-ton insulated water tank configured as an intelligent linkage system.

System Operation: Utilizing Shengtoke solar thermal collectors as the primary heat source, the 2,200 evacuated tubes capture abundant solar radiation. These tubes resist low temperatures and high-altitude UV aging with stable thermal efficiency. During sunny intervals, solar energy handles hot water generation while heat pump units remain on standby, heavily reducing electrical power consumption.

Smart Backup & Safety: The two Power World commercial heat pump units serve as secondary backup heat sources, governed by an intelligent linkage control system that monitors collectors, tanks, and ambient temperatures in real-time. On cloudy days or low-insulation periods, the system automatically engages the heat pumps to cover thermal deficits.

Overall Performance: The system stably delivers 30 tons of daily hot water with constant temperature and pressure. Key advantages include outstanding energy efficiency (maximizing free solar energy), high reliability (dual-heat-source redundancy ensuring uninterrupted service), and smart unattended automated management—delivering a robust, weatherproof centralized hot water solution for high-altitude public infrastructure.
